Too often cancer survivors "ring the bell", celebrate and think life is supposed to go back to normal. When they face with ongoing side effects, depression and anxiety, they often then feel guilt for not being "happy" after surviving cancer. The emotional impact of cancer hits many after the crisis of the cancer treatment is over. And although it is normal, patients are often not prepared for it and it takes them by surprise. Additionally long term side effects happen and being prepared for them is important. I am so grateful Dr Joe wrote this book to help prepare people for survivorship. Everyone wants to learn about Cancer and their treatments but I don’t think people realize that after you finish your journey that you are a different person from before you started physically and mentally.
